Laser-Scan Engineering Ltd is a service and support operation, based on the outskirts of Cambridge with a world-wide remit for installing and maintaining pre-press machinery, largely in the security and bank note printing industry.

We now have a new and exciting opportunity and are looking for a bright enthusiastic person to join us for the following roles:

 

TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER

We are seeking an individual who is motivated, flexible and capable of working alone or unsupervised (once the appropriate training has been given). The successful candidate must be prepared to undertake international travel.

A sound knowledge of mechanical and electronic engineering is essential and the ideal candidate will be qualified to at least HND level although other experience will be given consideration where appropriate. A good knowledge of various computer operating systems would be advantageous. Salary will be dependent upon qualifications and experience (£30,000 – £40,000).

OPERATIONS CO-ORDINATOR

Due to internal restructuring, we are looking to recruit a bright and motivated Operations Co-ordinator.

We are a small Company with a global reach and as a consequence you should expect the role to be varied and fluid and be prepared to turn your hand to a variety of different tasks. We feel that the position will ideally suit a graduate with a flexible and “can-do” attitude (though non-graduates will also be considered).

Tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Co-ordinating travel worldwide
  • Shipping and despatching of equipment and spare parts
  • Raising and processing Purchase Orders accurately and in a timely manner
  • Customer communication and liaison via telephone and email correspondence
  • Sourcing, ordering and maintaining stock supplies
  • Scheduling site visits onto our live database
  • Logging faults and outstanding actions
  • Database management to include recording, updating and maintaining customer data
  • Responding to client queries in a timely manner
  • Generally ensuring the operational workflow runs smoothly

The ideal candidate is someone who is:

  • Reliable with excellent timekeeping skills
  • Methodical, organised and able to prioritise
  • Self-motivated with experience in multi-tasking workloads
  • An excellent communicator (both verbal and written)
  • Confident on the telephone
  • Experienced in Customer Service
  • A competent administrator and co-ordinator
  • Able to follow processes and develop new ones to increase productivity
  • Competent with Microsoft Office products i.e. Word and Excel.

Desired skills though not a mandatory requirement:

  • Experience with Adobe InDesign
  • Additional language: Spanish, German, French
  • Experience in 1st Line Support

 

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:30 – 17:30

In return we are offering: Salary: Circa £23,000.00 (Full time position)
